My sister saves me tons of yogurt cups! Unfortunately they are made from a non-recyclable plastic, which means they land in the garbage when emptied unless you find another use for them. This gives me a little extra pressure to create a use for them. I've been making earrings out of the yogurt cups, but yesterday I made a simple braceled/wrist cuff. It uses the majority of the cup, leaving a lot less to throw away. Plus it's super cute and funky and sure to stike up a conversation. I used button snaps for the closure which makes for easy on and off. And since it's all plastic you can wear it anywhere because it's waterproof! I have lots of flavors, what's your favorite?

First 'guy' item!
I'm so happy to have finally made something with the guys in mind! This is a small, funky pin made out of a monster energy drink can. It was originally a special request for a friend's son, and I was so happy with the end result that I decided to add it to my collection...

4th of July!
I'm starting to make eco items for 4th of July! Last year when I was a newbie, I waited too late to start seasonal items. This year I'll hopefully be on time. These fun 4th earrings were hand cut from plastic bottles. Funky, patriotic and eco-friendly!

Ecogeneration

I wanted to start a blog swap for the ecoetsy team I'm involved in. This is the first participant! So today I'm featuring a very talented etsy artist, Ecogeneration! She makes creative items by reusing and upcycling materials. She also uses
sustainable and renewable sources like organic cotton yarn, bamboo
yarn, recycled yarn, and upcycled yarn. Ecogeneration recently discovered recycled felt, so she's also starting to experiment with that too! If you'd like to learn more about Ecogeneration, she has a blog where she dishes
about eco friendly items, environment, and other "stuff" (http://ecogeneration.blogspot.com). Click the title above to visit her etsy store!! She makes wonderful items, perfect for gift giving! I especially love the brooches, coffee cup sweaters and magnets! Enjoy!
If you're an ecoetsy member and you're interested in participating in the blog swap let me know!

Red, Recycled Bracelet!
I created this bracelet from a coffee container! Each oval was carefully, hand-cut with scissors. The result? A super cute, durable, red bracelet that will finish off any outfit! And you can feel good knowing it's made from recycled materials!

Eco Gift Set...
This adorable gift set was created with recycled plastics and aluminum! The colored circles were hand cut from plastic bottles and the small silver circles were hand cut from aluminum soda cans. This design is part of my new spring line.

Water Bottle Series
I've been working with water bottles this week. I really like the clear, yet textured look. They are super funky but really simple! These are my very first pendants too. Definitely more to come from this material.
