more fish bone earrings...

Here is another pair of the 'fish bone' earrings, but in red. I saw a similar design in my magazine and I thought it would be neat to make an eco design. Also the ones in my magazine were priced at $795.00!! Just so you know mine are $9.99... I could not imagine getting $795.00 for 1 pair of earrings! As always, these were hand made from recycled plastic. It was the same container as the red bracelet I posted a couple days ago. More colors to come!

These earrings were hand cut from a shampoo bottle! I really like the mixture of colors, text and texture...

Red, Recycled Bracelet!

I created this bracelet from a coffee container! Each oval was carefully, hand-cut with scissors. The result? A super cute, durable, red bracelet that will finish off any outfit! And you can feel good knowing it's made from recycled materials!

One Year on Etsy!

Yesterday February 12, was my one year anniversary selling on etsy! And one solid year of my business, Artwork by KD. This past year flew by! I've learned so much about having a business, and I feel like I made great progress in the past year. I started this business with nothing but a dream! To celebrate I'm offering free shipping on all orders from my etsy shop. This next year I hope to learn even more, double sales, and be at lots of art shows. Thanks so much for your support!

Wearable Abstract Art...

I've finally added brooches to my eco-jewelry line! These brooches are made from pieces of recycled plastic. I really enjoy making them. I don't think about anything except color and feeling. I want each brooch to have it's own little personality. Making these is a great exercise for my painting. I tend to worry and think too much, I want to paint the same way I make these brooches.

Eco Gift Set...

This adorable gift set was created with recycled plastics and aluminum! The colored circles were hand cut from plastic bottles and the small silver circles were hand cut from aluminum soda cans. This design is part of my new spring line.

Soda Can Circles...

These guys were cut from coke cans. I bend the top circle for added texture. They are super light-weight and fun!

Last Show of 2008...

This Sunday December 7th is my last show of 2008. It's at Vestal High School in Vestal, NY from 10am until 4pm. This season really flew by! Shows start up again in April, however I hope to do public selling at least once a month January-March.

So stop by Vestal High School if you're in the area. It'll be a great place to get your Christmas shopping done!

Recycled Plastic Necklace...

I've recently made my first necklace! I'm pretty excited about it too! I used 3 layers of recycled plastic. It's really comfy and attractive! Fishing line was used as the string, so it does not take away from the pendant and it fits into my funky style. I also learned how to make a secure knot (googled it!)! I will definitely have more necklaces soon! I'm also going to be selling pendants for those who already have a favorite chain. Let me know what you think! Would you wear this?
