spring things...

Here are some new spring items! These flower pieces are made from plastic milk cartons. I cut each layer individually by hand from a milk carton. Then the layers are stacked and fastened together by a head pin. Using a head pin allows you to move the petals around! These are super light weight! Perfect for spring!!

Aluminum Flower Ring...

So, I've been making rings out of recycled plastic. I wanted to experiment with aluminum cans as well. I tried my 'jumbo flower' design, and I'm really excited with what I came up with! This ring is made up of 6 hand-cut layers. The tiny circle in the center is recycled plastic, the next 4 layers are aluminum from various cans, and at the base underneath is also recycled plastic (since aluminum is so thin). The result is a fun, colorful piece of wearable art! It will surely draw attention :-) I'm also making brooches and necklaces with this same flower design.

Eco-Flower Brooches

Here are some brand new eco-flower brooches! They're just in time for the upcoming spring/summer months! The petal parts were hand-cut from milk bottles. The other colorful shapes were made from different plastic bottles. The parts are all movable too!
